Identifies the network-channel code for the circuit(s) involved. The NC code describes the channel provided from the end-user premises to the provider dial tone office. 1. Channel Service Code - Positions 1 and 2 describe the channel service code in an encoded form. The channel service code will typically be specified as the service code of the special service circuit or the transmission grade of the message trunk circuit. (2 alpha or 2 alpha/numeric characters). 2. Optional Feature Code - Positions 3 and 4 represent the option codes available for each channel service code. Standard combinations of this code will allow the customer to enhance the technical performance of the requested channel, or to further identify the type of service. It is also used to specify options such as conditioning, effective 4-wire, multiplexing, etc.. (2 alpha or 2 alpha/numeric characters). |
