Newsmax Channel Update
On December 31, 2021, the programming buying group that represents Hawaiian Telcom along with 700+ other cable operators came to an impasse in negotiations with Newsmax, owner of NewsmaxTV.
Newsmax is attempting to charge an unjustifiable amount that our programming buying group could not agree to. Newsmax's rate demands are too high for us to continue carrying them without increasing customer rates, especially when the service is available to stream for free.
As a result, Newsmax will no longer authorize Hawaiian Telcom to continue carrying Newsmax, effective December 31, 2021 at 7pm HST. Please see below for ways to watch NewsmaxTV for FREE.

Q: Why did Hawaiian Telcom Drop Newsmax?
A: Hawaiian Telcom’s decision to remove Newsmax was based on their unfair pricing demands. Newsmax offers their content for free in a number of places and in good conscious, Hawaiian Telcom could not agree to being treated differently.
Q: Am I able to still watch Newsmax?
A: There are a number of sites and apps that offer the service for free such as newsmaxtv.com, Roku Channel, YouTube Live, Amazon Fire, Chromecast, Apple mobile devices, Android mobile devices, Apple TV, Android TV and Pluto TV.
Q: Does Hawaiian Telcom disagree with Newsmax’s point of view?
A: Hawaiian Telcom always strives to offer a wide variety of content and programming to our customers. Our choice to remove Newsmax was strictly based upon their unfair pricing demands.
Q: Will Hawaiian Telcom bring Newsmax back on at any point?
A: If Newsmax is willing to make their service free, like they do on a number of streaming platforms, then we will bring back the channel.
Mahalo for being a Hawaiian Telcom customer.
