A2. Hawaiian Telcom SafeGuard includes two applications for your computer, mobile or tablet: HT Internet SafeGuard and HT Password SafeGuard. HT Internet SafeGuard provides your devices with browsing protection to keep you safe as you browse the Internet, banking protection for when you bank or make purchases online and family rules to protect your family or locate a lost device. HT Password SafeGuard is a password manager to securely store your logins and credit card information in one safe place.

Q4. How do I download Hawaiian Telcom SafeGuard?
A4.Follow these steps to download Hawaiian Telcom SafeGuard on your Apple or Android device:
Apple Smartphone or Tablet
Via Email
After Hawaiian Telcom SafeGuard is added to your account, you'll receive the “Complete Your Hawaiian Telcom SafeGuard Installation” email in your inbox that will include links to install HT Internet SafeGuard and HT Password SafeGuard applications.
- Open the email from the device that you want to protect with Internet security and have access to your secure password manager.
- Click on the “Install HT Internet SafeGuard” or “Install HT Password SafeGuard” button in the email. This will lead you to a page that will redirect you to the Apple App Store.
- Click the "Get" button in the Apple App Store to download the app. Enter your Apple ID credentials if prompted.
- Enter the username and temporary password provided to you in your “Complete Your Hawaiian Telcom SafeGuard Installation” email.
- Reset your password to a permanent password.
- Follow the prompts to complete the installation.
- Note: Any security software on your smartphone or tablet will be removed during the process of installing Hawaiian Telcom SafeGuard.
Via Hawaiian Telcom My Account
After Hawaiian Telcom SafeGuard is added to your account, you'll receive the “Complete Your Hawaiian Telcom SafeGuard Installation” email in your inbox that will include links to install HT Internet SafeGuard and HT Password SafeGuard applications. If you don’t see this email, you can resend your access email via My Account.
Go to My Account.
Login or register to My Account. To register for My Account, you’ll need your 15-digit account number, service zip code and preferred email address.
Ensure we have your correct email address. In the Internet Security section, click on Update Email Address.
Once you have designated your email address, go back into your My Account dashboard and in the Internet Security section, click on Resend Access Email.
Check your email inbox for the “Complete Your Hawaiian Telcom SafeGuard Installation” email from Hawaiian Telcom.
Click on the Install HT Internet SafeGuard and Install HT Password SafeGuard buttons to install on your smartphone or tablet.
Note: Any security software on your smartphone or tablet will be removed during the process of installing Hawaiian Telcom SafeGuard.

Via HT Internet SafeGuard app
- Open your HT Internet SafeGuard app on your smartphone, tablet or computer.
- Click on Manage My SafeGuard.

- Click on Add device.

Q6. How do I add more licenses to my Hawaiian Telcom SafeGuard subscription?
A6. Your Hawaiian Telcom SafeGuard subscription protects up to 5 devices. However, you can always add more licenses to cover more devices by calling customer service at 643-0839.

Q7. I purchased a new device. How do I remove Hawaiian Telcom SafeGuard from my old device?
A7. Anytime you purchase a new computer, smartphone or tablet, it is recommended that you protect your new device with Hawaiian Telcom SafeGuard. To release a license from your old device and protect your new one, you will need to follow these steps:
Via HT Internet SafeGuard
- Open your HT Internet SafeGuard app on your smartphone, tablet or computer.
- Click on Manage My SafeGuard.
- Log in using your email and password.
- Select the old device that no longer needs to be protected.
- Click on the Release license link to remove.
Via My Account
- Log in to My Account.
- Click on Manage Accounts under the Internet Security Section of your My Account dashboard.
- Log in using your email and password.
- Click on Manage My SafeGuard.
- Log in using your email and password.
- Select the old device that no longer needs to be protected.
- Click on the Release license link to remove.

Q8. What is a Master Password for HT Password SafeGuard?
A8. When you install HT Password SafeGuard on your device and you start the application for the first time, you will have to create a Master Password. This password is very important, as it allows access to HT Password SafeGuard, protects all your password data and gives you access to your stored password and credit card information.
Choose a unique, hard-to-guess master password or passphrase to keep your passwords safe. Do not use your master password for any other online account password. It should be unique to this service.
For your security, Hawaiian Telcom cannot reset your master password or send you a recovery code if you forget your master password. We strongly recommend that you create a QR recovery code as soon as you have taken the password manager service into use. The QR recovery code is secure and the easiest way to recover your master password if you forget it. See “10. How do I create a QR recovery Code?" for instructions on how to create and store your QR code.

Q9. How do I add my passwords or credit card information to HT Password SafeGuard?
A9. To add passwords or credit card information to HT Password SafeGuard, follow these steps:
- Log into Password SafeGuard.
- Click the + button in the top right corner.
- Choose if you want add a new password or credit card details.
- Enter the necessary information and click done.

Q10. How do I create a QR recovery Code?
A10. You will need to create a QR recovery code in case you forget your master password and need a way to retrieve it to log in to your HT Password SafeGuard app.
On Your Desktop
Sign in to HT Password SafeGuard on your desktop.
Go to Settings > Create Recovery Code.
Click Save.
Select a location where you want to store the file, and click save.
Go to your file manager, select the file, and print it out.
*Note: We recommend that you save the code as an image and print the file out for safekeeping, rather than storing the file on your computer. To recover the code, you can then use your mobile device to scan the image.
On Your Smartphone or Tablet
- Sign in to HT Password SafeGuard on your mobile device.
- Go to Menu > Settings, and tap Create Recovery Code. The image is automatically created.
- Tap Save as image. The code is saved to your Photos/Gallery folder on your device.
- Go to your Photos/Gallery folder, and tap on the photo. Print the image.
- Delete the file from your device once you’ve printed out the code.
*Note: We recommend that you save the code as an image and print the file out for safekeeping, rather than storing it in your cloud storage.

Q11. How do I recover my Master Password?
A11. You can recover your master password by following the below steps only if you have previously created a QR recovery code. If you’ve forgotten your master password, follow these steps to regain access to the password manager by using your QR recovery code:
- Open up the HT Password SafeGuard app.
- On the login screen, click on Forgot Master Password?
- Choose either Import Image or Scan Recovery Code.
- Select the image file or scan the image of the QR code. Your master password appears on the screen, and you can log in immediately.
- Click login and type in your master password to access app.

Q12. Can I sync Password SafeGuard across all my devices including my computer and mobile devices so I have access to all the same passwords on all my devices?
A12. After you complete the download process for Password SafeGuard on one device and start the installation process on your second device, you would be able to sync across all the devices. The application will prompt you to enter a 6-digit code on the new device. You’ll have 60 seconds to enter that code in on the new device; otherwise, a new 6-digit code will need to be generated.

Q13. How do I set up auto-fill for my login information in HT Password SafeGuard?
A13. You can have HT Password SafeGuard autofill your information in the browser instead of copy, pasting or manually entering.
On a computer
To enable the autofill feature, follow the steps below:
- Login to HT Password SafeGuard using your master password.
- Click on the Settings tab on the left side, and then click General.
- You will see two check boxes for the autofill feature. Check both of those boxes.
- Then, click the install button for the browser you would like to use, either Chrome or Firefox.
- Follow the prompts to successfully install the browser extension.
- Once the browse extension is installed, go back to HT Password SafeGuard and click the copy button under the authorization code.
- Paste the authorization code into the provided box within the browser and click submit.

Q14. How do I import my passwords from another password manager?
A14. You can import existing password data from other password managers on your PC Windows and Mac OS X computers versions of the product.
- Export the data from 3rd party password manager to a file in compatible data format of those noted below.
- Open Password SafeGuard, enter the master password to go to the main view.
- Open the side menu and select "Import passwords".
- Click the "Browse" button to open the file selector dialog and select the file where you exported the data in step 1.
- Import is then complete.
F-Secure Key can import the following data export formats:
- Password Safe XML export format
- KeePass 2.x XML export format
- 1Password 'interchange File' format
- F-Secure Key's own data export format

Q15. How do I set up Family Rules on my child’s device?
A15. To set up Family Rules, follow these steps:
Via HT Internet SafeGuard app
- Open your HT Internet SafeGuard app on your smartphone, tablet or computer.
- Click on Manage My SafeGuard.
- Log in using your email and password.
- Select your child’s device and click on Family Rules.
- In the Family Rules window, click on the tab that you want to set on your child’s device:
- Daily Time Limits – Limit daily internet use on HT SafeGuard Browser on smartphones and tablets or device use on computers by the hour.
- Bedtime – Set period of time for nighttime limited Internet use on HT SafeGuard Browser on smartphones and tablets or device use on computers.
- Content Filtering – Blocks selected web content categories on HT SafeGuard Browser on smartphones and tablets or across all browsers on computers.
