Professional Install Guide

What to expect

Watch the video and see more information below to help prepare for your Fioptics Internet installation appointment.

Preparing for your installation

  • Do not cancel any of your existing services until your new Hawaiian Telcom service has been installed.

  • A technician may visit your home to do pre-work 1-2 days before your appointment to connect fiber to your home. They will need access to outside areas near your utility meter. You do not need to be home, but please ensure access (unlock gates, secure pets, etc.).
  •
  • Installation of your service may require property modifications. If you're renting or leasing, be sure to confirm with your property owner that you plan to have Hawaiian Telcom services installed.
  •
  • Need to reschedule your appointment? Please call 808-643-3456 to change your installation appointment date and time.

Day of your appointment day

  • Someone 18 years old or older will need to be home on your installation day. This person will sign for service to begin.
  •
  • Arrange for an available space where our installation truck(s) will be able to park.
  •
  • Clear the areas in your home near your desired location for your equipment and ensure that there is a sufficient amount of power outlets available nearby.
  • Download the wireless gateway app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to your smart phone. After downloading, please log in or create an account.

For Fioptics 600, Fioptics 800, Fioptics 1G, or Fioptics 3G download the eero app

For Fioptics 400, download the Google Home app.

  • Disable any alarms and secure your pets.

During your installation

  • Your Internet will be down for part of your installation. Your technician will let you know when it will be going down, but please plan for it.
  • Your technician will make every effort to set up the equipment the way it works best for you.

  • Once the installation is complete, your technician will explain and walk you through the new equipment and service.
